The Great-er Awakening
The Apostle Paul was given two separate ministries. His ministry during the period covered by The Acts was to the “unsaved”. Paul’s second ministry after the end of the period covered by The Acts was to the “saved”. The Great-er Awakening is simply a continuation of Paul’s second ministry.
Paul’s former gospel was to the calling and hope of an earthly kingdom for Israel. But that all changed at the end of The Acts. The work of the second ministry was, and continues to be, for the perfecting (readjusting) of the saints (the saved), for the edifying (building up) of the Body of Christ (Eph 4:12). Because of a new revelation, Paul had to readjust his doctrine and then preach a readjusted gospel to those he had previously led to salvation. He had to readjust from preaching the kingdom gospel to preaching the gospel of the Body of Christ. This is what necessitated his second set of seven epistles.
Paul sums up his second ministry in his epistles to the saints and faithful (the saved) at Ephesus and Colosse as follows:
Eph 3:8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; 9 And to make all (saints) see (bring to light to whosoever) what is the fellowship (dispensation) of the mystery (secret), which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Col 1:24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for His body's sake, which is the church (called-out): 25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil (complete) the word of God; 26 Even the mystery (secret) which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to His saints (the saved):
Paul was to bring to light to whosoever (pas), (the same pas as in John 3:16, the saved), a secret dispensation that God kept hidden until it was revealed to him. This secret is only for the saved who were chosen by God before the overthrow of the world to be members of the Body of Christ (Eph 1:4).
For it is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have (desires that) all men (pas, the same as John 3:16 and Eph 3:9) to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (1 Tim 2:3-4). The Great-er Awakening offers to the saved an introduction to this glorious dispensational truth.
Whereas, the historical Great Awakening of the 18th century had its emphasis on the “unsaved” (John 3:16; Ro 10:9,13), this present Great-er Awakening has its emphasis on the “saved”. Ephesians and Colossians contain the doctrine of the Body of Christ and were written to the saints and faithful: the “saved”. Paul’s second ministry brings to the “saved” the gospel of the Body of Christ with its higher calling. This is a glorious enhancement to the gospel of salvation. Most Christians have been given half the truth. You might agree with the Queen of Sheba when she witnessed Solomon’s kingdom, “The half was not told me”.
Discover for yourself, as several have done, a new frontier in Biblical doctrine; a hidden treasure in the Bible. The word of truth overrules the traditions of religion.
Paul prayed for all “saved” saints “that the eyes of your understanding having been enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of His calling…may be able to comprehend with all saints….and be renewed in the spirit of your mind… for ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord.
